Do you try to keep from smiling so others won't see your yellow or stained teeth? Don't worry, you're not alone. Many people lack self-esteem because their smile is not as bright as it should be. As it is quite expensive to visit the dentist, many people choose to suffer with the consequences of tea, coffee, food, or just time on their teeth. Today, however, we will show you some low-cost alternatives that you can do at home. Read on and experience the bright, white smile that you've always wanted.

Whitening Strips. One of the most effective innovations with home teeth whitening is teeth whitening strips. They are a proven alternative to the dentist and messy whitening trays. Teeth whitening strips are thin plastic strips that have a bleaching agent coated right on the strip. The kits come with two different strips. One is designed to be used on the lower teeth and the other on the upper teeth.

Simple to Use. Apply the strip by pressing the bleach side of the strip to your teeth and secure in place for about 30 minutes. In 7-14 days, depending upon the stength of the strips you buy, your teeth will be much whiter.

Comfortable. One of the key advantages of whitening strips are their comfort. You hardly know that they are there so you can do other things while you are whitening your teeth.

Not as Good as the Dentist (but still pretty good...). Be aware, that, while effective, the bleaching agents on teeth whitening strips are not as strong as can be provided by a dental professional. Also, if you have crowns, bridges, veneers, implants, or other dental devises, home whitening results may not be as consistent your dentist.

Side Effects? While many people don't have any problem with using dental strips, some people have experienced gum irritation and sensitive teeth. These symptons generally subside over time.

Are home whitening strips right for you?  You may want to give them a try and see if you can achieve the brighter smile that you've always wanted.
